Jan Malan & Greg Meyer are show director/producers that has staged high profile productions in 38 cities on four continents.

Apart from a myriad of productions in Africa, they directed several shows on schedule at New York Fashion Week between 2000 &  2019. This included working for Fern Mallis, New York Fashion Week founder, as venue managers.

Their New York Fashion Week showography includes names such as; Deola Sagoe, MaXhosa Africa, Xuly Bët, Stoned Cherrie, David Tlale, Bongiwe Walaza, Eric Raisina, Lisa Folawiyo, Black Coffee, Loin Cloth & Ashes, Leanne Marshall, China’s Naersiling, Clive Rundle, Klûk CGDT, Julian, Concept Korea & Eliana Murargy.

They have had some of the world’s most sought after models on their runways. Industry icons such as Karlie Kloss, Alek Wek, Liya Kebede, Behati Prinsloo, Maria Borges, Chanel Iman, Lara Stone, Coco Rocha, Oluchi Onweagba-Orlandi, Tyson Beckford and Freja Beha Erichsen, as well as legends such as Pat Cleveland and Grace Jones.

Their client list in South Africa has included names such as Carolina Herrera,  Elton John, Tyra Banks, Hugo Boss, Calvin Klein, Louis Vuitton,  GUESS, Daniel Swarovski, The BBC, Elle MacPherson, L’Oréal and Mercedes-Benz.

Jan Malan, conceptualized and spearheaded the Face of Africa Model Search in 1997, which was broadcast to more than 44 African countries and the United States. It took Malan to 36 countries in Africa creating content for Africa’s biggest cable TV Network, M-Net. The competition was held annually until 2010 changing the lives of many women.

In 2013 he won an Award from African Fashion International for Outstanding contribution to African Fashion.

Career Highlights:

  • The legendary Face of Africa productions held in Accra, Lagos, Abuja, Cairo, Dar-es-Salaam, Nairobi, Kampala, Sun City, Lusaka, Victoria Falls, Windhoek, Johannesburg & Cape Town. (1998 to 2010)
  • Staging the International finals of Ford Model’s Supermodel of the World in Miami 2001 and in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic in 2002.
  • Miss South Africa with Doreen Morris (1993 to 1997)
  • Creative direction and production for the South African Fashion Awards conceptualizing its art, theatre and film themes. The “Fashion as Theatre” concept in November 2003 was awarded a Gold Loerie for best event. (South African Advertising Awards)
  • Appointed as a goodwill ambassador and show director for Sun International’s “Positive Rocks” at Sun City to raise funds for the Tapologo Aids Hospice in 2005 and 2006 . It featured Marc Bouwer, John Legend, Kelly Rowland and Ismaël Lô.
  • Entertainment Director for the Elton John Cape Town Ball at Vergelegen Estate.
  • Further afield directed all shows for Delhi Fashion Week in 2008 and 2009, conceptualizing and creating individual shows for over 20 designers including such luminaries as Rohit Bal and Tarun Tahiliani and meeting and working with an array of Bollywood celebrities.
  • 6 years of the annual “Hospice Wits Night with the Stars”. Bringing together over 100 celebrities & performers in a Fashion & Music Spectacular, on one stage.
  • 4 years of the Plat Africa Jewellery Design & Manufacturing competition – Gala Awards Evening (2016 to 2019)

Most recently they produced a Fashion & Music show at the Cannes Film Festival for Cinémoi Network for the second year time.

They passionate about promoting fashion & beauty from across Africa to other Africans and the international community at large.
