UMZINGELI PRODUCTIONS – BIOGRAPHY & CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

Malan was appointed as the Official Producer for Catwalk the World, a fund raising initiative for the UN World Food Programme that expanded its Pan- African footprint even further with Catwalk the World shows in Lagos, Nigeria and Accra, Ghana.   Producing the BBC Africa Radio Awards in Nairobi, Kenya, in May 2007, further entrenched the company as a force to be reckoned with on the continent. 

Umzingeli successfully produced the second and third editions of POS+TIVE ROCKS, for Sun International, the biggest fashion & music show on the continent of Africa.

On the international scene, one much televised highlight for Umzingeli was the ‘models walking on water’ fashion show for Tyra Banks’ America’s Next Top Model.

In addition, Umzingeli annually produces the Parisian themed, L’Oreal Professional Colour Trophy Awards, which has featured designers such as Valentino, Ungaro, Kenzo, Vivianne Westwood, Paco Rabanne, Versace, Missoni and Elie Saab in collaboration with top international hairstylists.

In 2006 the company was selected to direct the entertainment for the Virgin Money Credit Card Launch with its tongue in cheek “State of Blingola” theme.   In 2008 Jan added Delhi Fashion Week to his portfolio where he directed 22 shows in two consecutive seasons.
